This week I was introduced to a sound kit. It is composed of a sound recorder, XLR cable, headphones and a shotgun microphone. I was also introduced to the meaning off foley sound. Which simply is collecting a specific sound like a radio alarm or a planes engine then placing them over my own footage to ensure that I have clear crisp sound and doesn’t contain anything else. I was visually shown by the instructor on how to use the sound kit and then had to complete a practical to build and develop skills on collecting foley sound while also learning to properly use a sound kit. This essentially killed two birds with one stone.

This practical was completed in a group of 4 people and we had to select an option from below to record and it must be at least 60seconds to then bring it back to share with everyone else. This let me know what it was like to work in a group an could bounce off one another if there was something that we didn’t understand just yet.

My experience using the equipment:

I found that the task was pretty easy to do and complete once I got a hold of how to use the equipment. However there was one struggle with equipment in terms of battery it ran out
